Project start / end 2026-10-01 - 2026-12-31 Location Aarhus, Denmark Scope: 80%, onsite Languages: Danish, English Interim IT Support Specialist As an Interim IT Support Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring stable IT operations and an efficient user experience during a period of change or transition. Your contribution will help minimize downtime, support end users, and lay the foundation for long-term improvements in IT operations. Responsibilities Provide Level 1–2 technical support to end users via phone, email, and remote sessions, including troubleshooting Windows-based workstations. Administer and maintain user accounts and access rights through Active Directory (AD), including creating, modifying, and deactivating accounts. Support Microsoft 365 (O365) services, including Exchange Online, Teams, and OneDrive, as well as client configuration and access/permission management. Manage and prioritize incidents and service requests using ITSM tools, ensuring proper follow-up and documentation. Install, configure, and update hardware and software in accordance with organizational standards. Perform routine maintenance, patch management, and antivirus checks to ensure secure and reliable operations. Document configurations, standard operating procedures, and known fixes to improve team efficiency. Communicate clearly with non-technical users and contribute to user training and the adoption of best practices. Provide technical support for onboarding and offboarding processes for new and departing employees. Profile Hands-on and service-oriented, with strong communication skills and patience when interacting with users. A structured problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment where tasks must be prioritized and resolved efficiently. A team player who collaborates effectively across IT and business units and proactively shares knowledge. Required and Preferred Skills and Experience Experience providing user and endpoint support in Windows environments. Knowledge of and hands-on experience with Active Directory, including user accounts, groups, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs). Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and support, including Exchange Online, Teams, and OneDrive. Experience using ITSM processes and tools for incident and change management. Basic knowledge of networking, security, and patch management. Strong Danish and English communication skills, both written and spoken. Nice to Have Certifications such as Microsoft 365 Fundamentals or relevant Windows/Active Directory certifications. Experience automating routine tasks and scripting, for example with PowerShell. Previous experience in interim or project-based roles within complex organizations. Knowledge of cloud identity, hybrid Active Directory environments, and advanced Microsoft 365 administration tools. Reporting Line and Organizational Context You will report to the IT Support Team Lead in Denmark and work closely with the operations team to ensure continuity of service. The role is temporary/contract-based and focuses on maintaining stable operations and ensuring that documented work is effectively handed over to permanent staff at the end of the assignment. Team Structure and Collaboration You will be part of a cross-functional IT team and collaborate regularly with network, security, and application specialists, as well as local super users, to ensure smooth operations and a positive user experience. The role requires close communication with the Service Desk and external vendors. Deliverables and Success Criteria Fast and well-documented resolution of incidents, with targets for average response and resolution times. Up-to-date documentation of AD accounts, GPOs, and standard configurations for handover. Secure, tested, and documented Microsoft 365 configurations and user guides. Reduction and clearance of the ITSM backlog through proper prioritization and closure of accumulated tickets. Smooth and well-managed onboarding and offboarding processes, including complete access management and logging. Tools, Technologies, and Domain Context The work will primarily take place in a Windows-based environment integrated with cloud services through Microsoft 365. You will use Active Directory for identity and access management, as well as an ITSM tool for incident, problem, and change management. Additional tools may include remote support software, patch management solutions, and standard office applications.
